People Business Partner

The opportunity
This is an opportunity to join the People Services Department as a People Partner. You will provide effective and evidence-based HR solutions, support and advice to the organisation to enable the business to deliver its people strategy and address its people challenges.

The role can be based anywhere within the Staffordshire/North West region but can also be based from the main office in Leeds City Centre. With hybrid working arrangements available and occasional travel to services in the North-West.
This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, with a salary up to £40,000 plus company car/allowance

Reporting to the Head of People Services and supported by a team including HR Advisors, you will be expected to live our workplace values which are: honest, committed, and inventive.
The role
- Work as an integral part of the HR and Learning and Development management team, contributing to the overall People strategy.
- Attending regular team meetings to discuss progress against our People strategy and business objectives.
- Support and coach managers to provide engaging leadership and drive high performance.
- Support in large and often complex TUPE Transfers to ensure the successful movement of people to and from the organisation.
- Initiate innovative forms of People service delivery and identify improvement opportunities to maintain and develop the People service provision.
- Lead on transformational People projects to deliver effective business outcomes.
- Be a mentor/coach to ensure the development of HR Advisors reporting to you.
- Involvement in delivering appropriate training, recruitment, induction, monitoring performance, managing absence and carrying our performance and development reviews.
- Use the People dashboard to highlight any areas of concern to Service Leaders and Directors and support them with effective People activities and solutions to address these.
About you
- Qualified to CIPD Level 5
- Experienced in leading and managing HR projects and employee relations cases
- Experience of coaching and advising managers and employees.
- Experience of managing TUPE processes.
- Line management and development of team members experience.
- Previous knowledge and experience of applying current employment law.
