As many of you will already know, I am a huge supporter of Smart Works Newcastle and this year I am running the half marathon in support of the brilliant female employment charity. I will be one of 60,000 runners rolling up to the starting line on September 11th 2022 and have been set the small target of £300 to raise before the event takes place. If I manage to achieve this target, Sarah McKenna HR will then directly match it, bringing the total contribution to an amazing £600! Any donations, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has donated this far.
About Smart Works Newcastle
Smart Works Newcastle is a cause very dear to my heart. Since its inception in April 2018, the charity has supported over 1,000 women in their journey into work; from 1:1 interview preparation, to personalised styling sessions, this incredible organisation helps vulnerable females secure permanent employment. As a HR Recruiter within the area, I’ve bore witness to the wonderful work of this charity and have seen first hand the power of its services. For around four years now I have volunteered for Smart Works Newcastle and have been heavily involved with their interview coaching processes which is why your donations mean so much to me. Your money will allow Smart Works Newcastle to support even more women into employment.
How My Great North Run Training Is Going
To bring this blog to a close, I’ll offer you guys a little update on how my training is going… Last week I was on holiday, it was 8am, a balmy 32 degrees, and there I found myself jogging along the promenade of Puerto Pollensa – absolutely melting, obviously! Surely that level of commitment has to be worth a few ££ in donations alone?
