Hi, everyone, it’s Sarah here,
I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas already, but here we are!
As we’ve just celebrated the business’s 3rd birthday and everyone’s getting into the festive spirit, I wanted to say thanks to everyone that’s supported Sarah McKenna HR Recruitment this year and do a quick recap of some of my favourite bits from 2019.
Thanks so much to everyone who’s been a part of the journey this year, here’s to 2020!
Something I’m very proud to have been involved with this year is supporting Smart Works. They’re an amazing charity that help unemployed women to get back into work through coaching, advice and styling for job interviews.
I volunteer as a coach here in the North East, providing one-to-one interview preparation sessions and coaching. A couple of the company’s events have been in aid of Smart Works, and I can’t wait to carry on working with them next year.
If you or anyone you know would like more information about Smart Works, here’s a bit about what they do.
I’m so lucky that my job allows me to get to know amazing people every day.
I’ve had the pleasure of placing some incredible candidates with some wonderful companies in HR and talent roles across a whole range of sectors including tech start-ups, training, engineering, law, and manufacturing industries to name a few!
To give you a flavour of what it’s like to work with Sarah McKenna HR Recruitment, I asked one of my recent clients, Jen Tait at Rise Learning Group, to talk about her experience working with me.
You can read about how we worked together to find experienced Learning Specialist, Louise, to join Jen’s team here. Thanks again for your input Jen!
As everyone who works with me knows, I love making new connections. I also really enjoy introducing the people in my network to each other wherever I can too.
So this year I’ve put on more of my networking events than previous years. For the last one of 2019 I invited Ryan from Hive HR to talk about employee engagement, and there was a great turnout from the north east HR community!
You can read more about what we learned from Ryan about employee engagement in my other blog here.
I’ve already got some events planned for the new year so keep an eye out for details of those appearing in January.
My clients and candidates will already know that instead of gifting presents this year I’ve donated money on their behalf to CashforKids ‘Mission Christmas’.
Mission Christmas donates the gifts and money they receive to disadvantaged children, making sure they have presents to open on Christmas morning.
The charity do amazing work all year round which you can find out more about on their website http://www.cashforkids.uk.com/.
Thanks again to everyone I’ve worked with this year. Have a lovely break and I’ll see in 2020!
Sarah
